Meet Kim

Kimberley Faber is a storyteller, keynote speaker, facilitator, career and life coach, consultant and instructor who delivers workshops and presentations grounded in real life experience. A Registered Early Childhood Educator with over 30 years in the field, she has supported children, families, educators and organizations through program leadership, consulting and postsecondary teaching, both locally and nationally.

While much of Kim’s professional experience is grounded in the early years, her work also speaks to broader themes of learning, connection and growth that resonate across professions and community settings.

Throughout her career, Kim has held a wide range of roles in child care, from managing programs to working directly in classrooms with children of all ages. Her work has included a strong focus on inclusion, supporting newcomer families, guiding educators, assessing and monitoring child care programs and teaching future professionals.

These experiences have given Kim a practical and grounded perspective shaped by what the work looks like day to day, beyond policies and plans and centred on the people doing the work.

Kim also brings a strong foundation in adult education. She holds a Recognition of Achievement in Excellence in Educating Adults from Seneca College, as well as certificates in Career Coaching and Life Coaching. This training continues to shape how she creates learning and coaching experiences that are engaging, reflective and connected to real life.

Through Perfectly Imperfect, Kim offers keynote presentations, interactive workshops, facilitated learning experiences and individual or small group coaching. Her presentations combine humour, storytelling and reflection to encourage meaningful conversations about learning, leadership, inclusion, connection and professional growth. Her coaching services provide more personalized support, particularly for members of the early learning community who want to build confidence, prepare for interviews, grow into leadership roles, work through challenges or clarify their next steps.

Alongside her professional work, Kim’s experiences as a parent have deepened her understanding of inclusion, advocacy and the realities families face within complex systems. This perspective also informs her interest in supporting parents of children with additional needs as they navigate these systems, make important decisions and advocate for their children and families. Above all, these experiences have reinforced the importance of supporting one another and recognizing that it truly takes a village.

Known for her relatable storytelling style, Kim helps people reflect on life’s everyday “oops” moments and gently turn them into opportunities for growth, connection and learning, one perfectly imperfect step at a time.
